Fashion artist David Downton's specially commissioned illustration to celebrate the event
Being a serial window shopper (more on that in this month’s InStyle – p41, do have a read) I’m rather partial to a mooch down Sloane Street. But if you’re down there this week you might think you’d accidentally stumbled onto filming of the Downton Christmas Special. For the next three Thursdays until Christmas, a team of liveried butlers will be lined up welcoming customers to stores, whisking them in and out, umbrellas aloft, generally being as Carson–esque as possible.
That’s our idea of luxury shopping. All I need now is a kindly sheik to lend me his credit card so I can <really> get into the spirit….
