Frigid yet sunny in mighty Milano, my second day at Milan Fashion Week saw a swanky appointment with the Tods Group that evening – a gathering of the best of the blogosphere over prosecco and prosciutto wrapped breadsticks with Diego Della Valle, the owner of the Tods Group. So I dressed accordingly.
My Milanese wardrobe is based around a palette of neutrals and browns, as opposed to New York which was all black everything and London, whence I worked in color, and today’s outfit was no exception. Inspired by Tods’ legendary leathers (and the nippy breeze), I whipped out my vintage Jaeger leather trousers and went from there. A Helmut Lang cocoa silk top worn underneath a 5 year old tweed blazer from Banana Republic with an embellished collar (solid purchase, if I do say so myself) completed the look. I shrugged into my chocolate rabbit fur gilet for an extra layer of warmth (Lufthansa’s evil luggage restrictions severely limited my outwear options). For accessories, brown Tory Burch buckle boots and my black Fendi Peekaboo did the trick-whoever said you can’t mix brown and black has clearly never been to Milan Fashion Week!
